| Here is my little rant. Guys like us are never stupid enough to really believe that we are Superman. Nor are we ever stupid enough to believe anyone ever could be. The problem is that guys like us ARE stupid enough to try to take on the world. Why do we do it? Typically? Because for some fucking reason, we think it matters to someone. In the end, we always come to the same conclusion: It didn't mean shit to anyone and all we got was fucked hard and put away wet. Guys like us would give anything for just one person to give a shit about us the way we do about them. Eventually, once we get beyond the naivety, we would give anything to make ourselves stop giving a damn. The hell of it, is that we can't stop. Even those of us who like to pretend we don't need anyone or anything, still do. Those guys that really are cold hearted and don't need shit, my hat's off to ya. I don't know how you do it.. | |

My friend was telling me the other day about this girl that we've known for years...how he would go to the ends of the earth for her, and move mountains. He is standing at the edge of the cliff. He asked me if I thought he should jump. Stupid question. His mind was made up already. My response was a question: "Can you go through all that pain again?" His answer was "if I have to". He is off to pretend to be a superman. And before it's said and done, chances are, she'll give him a good dose of kryptonite, and never think twice. I hope I'm wrong. |
